ABOUT TOOLBOX CREATIVE
Toolbox Creative was founded by Darren Connell, a filmmaker with 25 years’ experience across broadcast media, corporate communications and now running his own production business.
With a background in video journalism and experience working with large companies, his work spans concept development, scripting, filming and post-production — translating complex activity into content that is structured and easy to understand.
Working directly with clients from initial concept through to final delivery, the approach is hands-on, nimble and responsive, aligned to the needs of each project.
Toolbox Creative is the platform through which this work is delivered — scaling to suit each project while providing a flexible, efficient way to produce high-quality film and video without unnecessary layers.
SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
Shooting and Filming
Extensive filming experience, in active project and corporate environments — with a focus on working safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption.
Experienced across operational sites, offshore environments and filming complex projects, adapting to the constraints of each location as needed.
BOSIET qualified and ready for offshore travel.
Editing and Post-Production
Editing and post-production skills, focused on structuring complex material into clear, effective video content, whether that be short form social content or long form feature or documentary.
The approach is centred on clear messaging, pacing and flow — ensuring information is accurate, easy to follow and aligned with purpose.
Creative direction from initial concept through to final delivery — working closely with clients to define the right approach, structure messaging and ensure content meets its intended purpose.
This includes shaping ideas, developing scripts and planning how content will be captured and delivered, ensuring clarity and consistency across each stage of production.
The focus is on making sure the final output is aligned with the audience, the message and the environment it will be used in.
